The following entry is now listed in the London Stock Exchange Investor Centre as an information source on buying land a an investment.
“ Gladwish land has been selling land professionally since 1989.
The land is for sale without planning permission all across England and it is adjacent to existing developments, outskirts of towns and cities. As housing demands increase, the boundaries extend, and include the surrounding area. If planning permission is applied for and approved, the value will increase substantially. Buying land in England has always proven to be a very good return on your capital outlay, Prices start at £2,000.

While 2005 was not the most brilliant year for the sale of small plots of land 2006 appears to have started strongly.
Gladwish Land Sales and Land Sales UK have had a busy January and February – over 100 plots have sold to the public at full retail price.
Just in the first couple of days of March a further 10 plots have been reserved.
Spring is the time for land buying to start so these strong sales figures for the dull months of the winter are encouraging for the trading year ahead.

After several years of sustained growth in land sold through www.land-sales-uk.com 2005 saw a modest slow down in sales, particularly in the second half of the year. This mirrored the reduced activity seen in the UK housing market and nervousness in the stock market.
The UK property and land market is particularly sensitive to factors such as interest rates and consumer confidence. Because we live in a very densely populated country with very tight planning and land use regulations small changes in market conditions cause huge fluctuations in prices and demand. As no new land will ever be made just a small change in demand for a very tight supply caused prices to rise or of course fall.
Many investors are staying in cash for the time being and holding out for a return in confidence before marketing their existing and property. This is little supply and little demand situation and not the makings of a return to a rising market. We need a shift in confidence to get buyers out there again to snap up that limited supply and get the market bubbling again.
